I stand at the edge of time
looking out from a cliff of silence
down at a world soon to be red stained
the wind spreads through the trees
waving their leaves as if they were neon lights

No one notices…

All the signs are present, yet they deny it
for that is their nature, they don’t wish to see
what will happen very very soon
I look up and see the stars

They are fading…

My time here is ending, few will survive
what the future holds, fewer with abilities
the stars have seen history as it is made
they know it will repeat itself, people don’t change
yet, if they don’t change
they will destroy themselves
they will destroy their home
She, our mother, cries out in pain
for her children have carved her up
for their own selfish pleasures

She will be reborn though it will take millennia
but what if all is lost?
History repeats, she knows
I have felt her pain and fear
Her wails are so loud- why can’t they hear?
They will do nothing and cause their own death.
They will do nothing and cause their own death.

The sun is setting ever so slowly
A dark night with no moon will soon rise
The stars with their ever-watchful eyes
will witness the end of a race
Unless something is done,
I am the only one left.
